The short answer is, Yes! If left untreated, cataracts can lead to blindness, therefore cataract eye surgery is a medically necessary procedure, and typically covered by health insurance. Medicare and most private insurance plans will help cover much of your cataract surgery cost. You will be responsible for any co-pay and deductible as determined by your insurance.

A standard, single-focus-point correction will generally be covered by insurance. If you choose presbyopic correction (for fuller range vision after surgery), or astigmatism-correction (to correct the cataract and the out-of-round condition of your eye), you will be responsible for the additional cost associated with that correction. We will discuss these fees with you during your evaluation.
